Rolling On Floor Laughing! If you hadn't have done that, I would've not started chatting with you about stuff. Telling me my pitch is off gave me the impression that you were not afraid to be honest about criticism, and that's refreshing.

Of course I haven't changed my vocal approach based on your criticism; it's a part of what we sound like at this point, even though sometimes it's pretty annoying.

Sure, at times, it may lead to defenestration. Which is why I say "most of the times." But now that I've seen more of the blinding light that is Halaka, I've come to like it in most instances. I totally see the microtonal thing now.

Big Grin Excellent. Trying to use my deranged sense of harmony to work microtonal stuff into improvised noise weird music is much more satisfying when people recognize it.

AND, if we cause enough defenestration then eventually we'll be put on the no-fly list. Or the do-not-call list. One or the other.

Defenestration is always good thing, so long as it's somebody else's item being defenestrated.

It's sort of like reading books about entropy, only different.

My system is about to crash. I'll be back.

I'm glad that there is peace Peace between the mux/halaka camp on the pitch issues. :)) (Very Happy) . It's true that Kingo is sometimes all over the place, but is that what it is really about? :? (Confused) Thinking Shrug :s (Irked)cratcheshead: :s (Irked)cratchesabitlower:

I mean, if you are after a perfectly controlled voice hitting perfectly controlled pitches with perfectly controlled tone, then listen to Stacy Kent (who I adore Heartbeat ). But Halaka is not about that and I adore them too. They are about finding the joy in music, the pain in music, the angst in music, the euphoria in music and that has little to do with pitch. Pitch plays a role 'cause somehow it always enters even into the most experimental music, but it is tertiary. There are other things (I think at most of the highbrow music schools it is technically known as "balls" ) that are more important in Halaka's music and that give the listener the opportunity to smile, cry or think. Thank goodness that our era has Halaka, because it would be rather bleak without them.

whoa.. fred, thanks for saying that. dunno how things communicate so clearly through music but evidently they really do. Kingo and I often end up doing this.. thing whenever we sing together on something, and something about it isn't quite "right" a lot of the time, but it's what's honest.

Look at all this cross-contamistration going on over here on this thing here that I never even remembered to ever check anymore. THIS MAKES SENSE BECAUSE I AM THE FEEN CONTRAPTOR! There's a message from Madhog up there about this stuff that I never even noticed. If only you guys could hear all the 27,000 recordings of Madhog and I shifting our harmonic pitches off just a tad, trying to bust each other up during the songs. It's an acquired taste, I think. Or is that an acquiesced taste? An aquavelva taste?

That stuff tastes like shit, I know that.

Never lick aquavelva.

Licking aquavelva is better for your health than sucking sterno. Those micro harmonic encroachments wet my whistle and float my boat.
